The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has organized a sail and cheer boat cruise to deepen the promotion of tourism using sports to showcase the beauty of Lagos as football enthusiasm watched the live football match between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday. The match ended with a goal in favor of Nigeria.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire to Nigeria Kalilou Traore, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Bar. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, the Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Hon. Idris Aregbe, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Oloruntoyin Atekoja, and a host of other dignitaries and football enthusiasts participated in the cruise.

The Deputy Governor said that apart from watching the football match on the lagoon, participants at the “Sail and Cheer” also enjoyed the sights, aesthetics, and beauty of Lagos State as they embarked on a boat cruise.

The boat, which took off from the Falomo Lagos Jetty through the Iconic Ikoyi Link Bridge, later returned to the Falomo Jetty at the end of the match which was won by Nigeria.

There was music to thrill the spectators on the cruise to watch the match as well as celebrate the Nigerian team winning.
