Vice President of Nigeria, Kassim Shettima who is currently presenting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the ongoing 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is having busy schedules attending to high level meetings.

He attended a high-level Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) meeting chaired by Angola, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, ongoing in New York, United States.

At the meeting, he reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to fostering stronger international partnerships and deepening relations with member states of the OACPS.

Reiterating the importance of solidarity among member states in the face of numerous global challenges, he emphasised Nigeria’s commitment to the organisation’s goals, while addressing pressing national concerns.

Nigeria remains a principal partner of OACPS, championing our shared values of democracy, diaspora engagement, and development.

Also the vice president met with other members of Nigeria’s delegation to the 79th UNGA to strategise on the country’s engagements in New York.

This is aside being briefed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, earlier on arrival in New York on Monday on the activities and itinerary lined up for me in New York.

Additionally, President Tinubu administration’s commitment towards mortgage refinancing and women empowerment received the support of the United States Chamber of Commerce with a commitment of about $320 million.

This was confirmed at a US-Nigeria Executive Business Roundtable hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce, Nisha Biswal of the American International Development Finance Corporation.
